I love it and you should too!
Trying to write an article about a specific season is a hard thing to do when you have a global readership like the Crystal Angel enjoys. I mean, right now at my Aunties in Australia and New Zealand, Spring is coming. The same is true for my dear friends in Brazil (congratulations on scoring the Olympics!) and all our fans in the Southern Hemisphere.
Is the idea of having bears going into hibernation, leaves exploding into fabulous colors, and shopping for sweaters in October as foreign to Aussies and Kiwis as the thought of tulips and crocus' blooming in November for me? I just do not know, but since Autumn comes for me in late September and goes through to the end of October, I figured I could get away with focusing on Autumn in this issue.
I have a love/hate relationship with Autumn, although it is more of a "like/not again" relationship. LOL. Autumn always comes too fast for me here in the mountains of Colorado. Living most of my life above 7000 feet has taught me to appreciate every moment of summertime and grab every sunbeam

I can while I am able.
My Dad was very good at spending time with me, either working on the ranch or just going for walks or horseback rides. Each season, he would show me new unique things about how each season had its own way of offering beauty to those who are not too busy to see it.
It was not just the changing aspens, or the bears coming down into town for one last big feed before crashing out for the Winter, or even the terribly long hard days of putting up feed and hay, canning moms garden delights, or simply trying to find those darn mittens I threw aside in glee last Spring - it was more than all of that.
It was as simple as sitting at Hummingbird Rock and listening to the clouds stroll across the sky, or a quiet evening on the porch watching the stars come out to play, or the mystic scent of pinyon burning in the woodstove as you fell asleep. I learned about these things for each of the four seasons, but I seem to appreciate the Autumn "lessons" the most. That is the love part.
The "hate/not again" part is the cold riding in with Old Man Winter which Autumn opens the door for. I friggin LOVE snow, but the cold..... brrrrrrrrrr. But we will get into that another day.
Autumn means change and change can sometimes be unsettling. I hope this issue helps relax and settle you while we prepare to embrace the oncoming Winter.
In the past Autumn Issues, we were always away from Moove - in Salem; on a cross-country road trip; or somewhere else in the scary real world. This year we decided to hang around our safe and comfortable community, focusing on one of our favorite and FREAKY Designers, Livid and then taking a guided tour of Mickey Blades Club empire.
Instead of going for a ride this year, the Crystal Angel decided to work on getting everyone a "ride", through our Cash for Clunkers program.
Whether you need a sport bike, a Harley, a pick-em-up truck for romantic rendevous at Prospect Point or a Bumper Car for more civilized domestic disputes - you need look no further than our Let's Ride column on Page 4.
There was no dispute, domestic or otherwise, that THE Wedding of the Year was the union of Otis and Tess. I have been to several weddings in Moove, but I cannot ever remember one that was so purrfect - from the Paccy designed wedding dress to the custom Chapel to having Bishop Catmoritz as the guest of honor. You can take an inside peek at this cermony on Page 5.
Before publishing each issue, I have long time readers, Designers, and regular "test subjects" go over the final articles and photos so I can get feed back before we go international. One of the consistent "comments" for this issue is that it has a chaotic feel - or a disjointed quality about it. I think they are correct. But as with everything, there is a reason.
The reason is the season.
Over the past Summer, we have been to Hair Festivals, around the San Juan Skyway, back and forth in time, and we have danced with Native Americans and Sudanese as we celebrated the glory of life.
As Autumn winds down, we find ourselves with more loose ends than we can deal with - or so it seems. Often, when people get confused it is just because we have no idea that all those loose ends can be woven into a strong rope, which can then be used to pull ourselves away from the brink of true chaos. Confused? Good! Confusion leads to Questions which bring about Answers which develops Wisdom which is the beginning of the discovery of Truth.
