Continued from page 12 We arrived and dropped anchor in the Bay
of Venice. We had
an extra day before the
shows started, so
while Mela and I worked
with the designers
and our security team
went searching for
the pirates who stole
our notes and laptops
our guest decided to
explore Milan.
Milan is one of the largest cities in Italy
and has a population of 1.3 million. The
area around Milan has a population ranging
from 2.9 to 7.4 million. The city covers
kinda a small area because of the way people
in the past built close to each other to
protect agriculturally rich Lombardy plain. Milan is known as one of the world capital
of design and fashion
and has been very welcoming
and friendly to Avatars.
Milan is famous
for its fashion houses
and shops (such as
along the Montenapoleone)
and the Galleria
Vittorio Emanuele
in the Piazza Duomo (the
world's oldest shopping
mall). I love Malls,
but Mela and I were
much too busy to go and
hang out at the food
court. After making sure everyone was transported
safely from the Yachts
to Milan (while Venice
was appealing, our
group was a bit tired
of water and skipped
visiting Venice on
this
trip), Mela called
down to the seward
and
told them we were
ready for the short
trip
via Sky Car. Of all the toys, we brought with us, the
Sky Car by Moeller
was by far the most expensive
and most fun. It
is like those Jetson cars,
but wayyyy kewler.
Mela drove, which is like doing nothing.
LOL. With Guns and
Roses blasting from the
I-pod connected to
the 6 Bose speakers, we
rocked all the way
to Milan - swooping low
every now and then
to give the local farmers
a thrill. I am sure
that there were calls
to the local constable
reporting UFO's. Of
course that would
be Unidentified Fashion
Objects.
The Skycar
Moller International
has developed
the first
and only feasible,
personally
affordable,
personal vertical
takeoff and
landing (VTOL)
vehicle the
world has ever
seen.
You've always
known it was
just a matter
of time before
the world demanded
some kind
of flying machine
which would
replace the
automobile.
Of course,
this machine
would
have to be
capable of
VTOL, be easy
to maintain,
cost effective
and reliable.
Well, we at
Moller International
believe we
have come
up with the
solution. That
solution is
the
volantor named
M400 Skycar. Click here to read more about our Moeller
Sky Car
After making a pass around the Fashion District
(just to freak everyone
out), Mela made a
purrfect landing
on the roof of the The Grand
Hotel et de Milan
where we had decided to
stay during our visit..
The Grand Hotel et de Milan is historical
(built in 1863) hotel
with luxurious rooms,
in the heart of Milan's
fashion and business
district. The Grand Hotel et de Milan boasts a central
location near the Cathedral or "Duomo",
the famous Vittorio Emmanuele gallery and
the La Scala theatre - as well as a whole
host of streets full of the most exclusive
boutiques. Maybe this is why the famous composer Giuseppe
Verdi made this hotel
his home for 27 years;
who knows... In any
case there's no need
to worry; the VIP
Treatment is extended to
everyone. The kewl thing about Milan Fashion Shows,
is that they are
spread out at different
locations and while
some are traditional,
many of the Designers
choose cutting edge
video, music and
runway settings. Our fantastic
Moove Designers were
no different. The list of Moove designers that submitted
fashions and scheduled shows is the Who's
Who of the Moove Fashion Elite. From AL Fashion
House to Waya, and all the alphabet letters
in-between - the Moove Geniuses stunned the
Fashion World with bold new looks and colors.
We have only touched on the highlights of
each designer as new shopping kiosks are
built. AL Fashion House - Aylin lady and Doc Caius of the AL Fashion
House have become
close friends of and highly respected by the staff of the Crystal Angel.
In addition to offering
wonderful custom
designs, the Al Fashion
House showcased a
wonderful line of
Gowns, Wicthes Wear and
Spring Dresses. As with most of the Moove Runway Shows, AL
Fashion House went
with a hard-hitting rock
soundtrack. the crowd
in the auditorium loved
it almost as much
as they loved the wonderful
AL Aella line of sexy, fun halter dresses. For this fashion writer, nothing took my
breath away as did
the wonderful full length
formal gown in a
gold and off-white. The
matching cuffs combined
with river of contrasting
darks and lights
set this divas heart all
aflittering. LOL.
We look forward to a long
and wonderful friendship
with the Aylin Fashion
House, and we suggest
you do too.
Andrea SweetGirl - Traditional International Designs with a
modern flair. Andrea's Fashion House has cornered a market with
wonderful traditional designs from Spain
to the Orient. Her detailed work on her Rose Spanish Dance
design is simply
unmatched and the crowds
at the show gave
it a standing ovation. By
combining both a
formal full lentgh skirt
with a more casual
(and sexy) short skirt,
Andrea Sweetgirl
offers something for everyone
and for every social
occassion. Andrea not only shows her knowledge of traditional
fashion, but has
done a wonderful
job with
themed fashion. The
fashion elite who
attended
her show went ga
ga over her Sailor
Girl
Design, Big Top Fantasy
wear, and her so-very-sexy
baby doll look with
baby blue trim and
matching
lingerie. Andrea has impressed us with her learning
and design curve
and her attention to detail.
We predict that this
is a Fashion House that
will become one of
the standards and most
respected along Fashion
Row in Moove.
Betty Boop 1980 We were just tickled to see new designer Betty Boop make a last minute effort
to get to Milan with her new looks and styles.
Betty loves to show legs, and her new line
of matching skirts and tops offers just the
right length to be sexy but not too inviting.
The crowd at her show (as well as this fashion
writer) loved how
Betty offers her designs
in both simple elegance
and vibrant playful
colors. Her BB Butterfly two piece in a fabric which
could have come out
of 1968 was the star
of the show. We do
have one request
in that
we would LOVE to
see some matching
footwear
from Betty to compliment
her bold and exciting
designs.
Blue2 Blue2 owns and operates KMKreations and is
back in Moove after taking a short vacation.
Blue2 offers all of her designs for free;
and along with LindaTX and Livid, offers
some of the most unique designs in Moove. While you can change your existence to a
cat, an Easter Bunny, or even a character of the Wizard of Oz (if I only
had a brain, la la la), we really fell in
love with her tops in black and earthtones
and a wonderful sequined colorable jumpsuit.
We would like to thank Blue2 for adding a
free pair of ankel strap colorable pumps
for all skin tones to compliment her yummy
designs.
Catmoritz Moove Week in Milan is not exclusively dedicated
to fashion and design that you wear - builders,
room designers, and new technical breakthroughs
are also featured during this week of partying
and fun. Catmoritz is an old friend of the Crystal
Angel staff and he
continues to design and
offer some of the
most detailed and cozy
buildings available
in Moove today. We simply
adore his new look
at his website. The newest design from Catmoritz and a MAJOR
show stopper in Milan was his new Rose Garden
Room. Chantell Roses Chantell and her partners in the Blood Sisters
are always turning
out the most sought
after
designs in Moove
today. The hardworking
team
at Blood Sisters
turns out gorgeous
quality
ladies wear on an
almost daily basis. With the music of Train (who I simply LOVE)
and other cutting
edge bands accompanying
the strutting models,
Chantell and her team
once again showed
the World they are in the
top tier of the Moove
Fashion Elite. Her lavender sets, which included a two piece
hot pants outfit and matching shorty dress
were the hits of her runway show. But the Blood sisters are more than frilly
fashions in soft
colors. Whether you are
looking for lingerie,
sexy mistress-inspired
styles or the most
comfortable shoes on the
planet, the sisters
at Blood are ready to
style you out.
Cindy2 We were soooo happy that Cindy2 once again
showed her fashions
in our Annual Fashion Week...and we were not dissapointed. Cindy2
uses the finest silks
and even ventured into
a tight fitting stretch
fabric her technicians
have invented. Don't
ask, it is a highly
guarded secret and
we only know that the
Cindy2 staff have
found a way to make raw
silk stretch like
spandex. One of the high points that all the top fashion
magazines were gushing
over was how Cindy2
offers matching footwear
for many of her
outfits. As we all
know, the proper
shoes
can make or break
an outfit; and Cindy2
overcomes
this hair-pulling
problem with some
of the
most comfortable
pumps since my furry
bunny
house slippers. Those in attendance at her runway show were
buying up and placing
orders with her entourage
before the show was
even half finished. If
you do not have a
Cindy2 design in your closet,
well you had better
get in line. LOL
Dark Embrace No fashion week would be complete without
a show by Dark Studioz by the creative genius,
Dark Embrace. Her show last year was awarded
a Crissy (the awards given out each year
by the Crystal Angel staff for the most awe-inspiring
fashion show of the year). With technical difficulties keeping Embrace
from doing all she
is capable of, and
a new
baby to watch over
and raise right,
Embrace
was not able to attend
her runway show in
Milan. She made up
her absence by not
only
showing GREAT Spring
fashions, but then
offered
them for free. Yep,
you heard right.
LOL Unfortunatly, following her show, her studio
burned to the ground.
We are in the process
of building her a
new studio (bigger
and
better than ever).
Until we finish her
new
shop and design studio,
you will need to
contact her to score
any of her freebies.
It is worth it, trust
me. Jasmine 1968 What can we say about Jasmine1968 that has
not already been
written in Elle or
Harpers.
She is FAB. With
a Traci Chapman inspired
runway show, Jasmine
toned down the rowdy
cowd and let her
designs get them
on their
feet. The highlight of her show was her bib dresses
known as the Jas
Dress (18-19-20)
in wonderful
Spring and Summer
colors. I bought
all of
them. The small inch wide straps make this the
purrfect outift to
wear with your fav
t-shirt,
crew neck or even
a tube top. By wearing
it alone, the bib
dress becomes an
ultra
sexy sundress. Even if light happy colors are not really
your thing, Jasmine
offers darker colors for Spring and Summer that just seem to
work. Whether Jasmine is dabbling in the watercolors
of Spring or the
deep rich oils of
the Earth,
her designs are quietly
elegant and comfortable
- much like her runway
show in Milan.
