After two full days of successful shows,
our luck runs out and goblins take over..

Continued from Last Issue Day 5 of the Milan Moove Fashion Week.
.Following the great show by LindaTX, we all
took a break for the remainder of the day.
Livid had scheduled her runway show for 12:01
AM the next morning, leaving us to explore
the wonders of Milan. Some of our Moove friends visited the ornate
Duomo cathedral or the famous La Scala opera house. The group from the Shadow Yacht decided
to spend the afternoon visiting art museums,
galleries and elegant palazzos Aylin Lady, Doc Caius, LindaTX, Sabrewulf, Dave and Maggy and Sweet Anne
Singing were lucky enough to book a viewing
of Leonardo da Vinci's, "The Last Supper" and visited the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e Tecnica to see da Vinci's technical drawings and
models. Fashion is big business and a big draw in
Milan, from the extremely upscale stores
of the Quadrilatero d'Oro to the more reasonably priced shops on Corso Buenos Aires, there is something for everyone. Mela and
I visted them all. After spending WAAAAAY to many Euros, Mela
and I met up with KY and JoJo, Rando, Apollo,
and Waya at Cracco's for an early dinner before heading back to the
Fashion Shows. Chef Carlo Cracco welcomed us and sat us
at a wonderful table
with a view. Cracco
joined forces with
the city's top gourmet
food store "Peck",
and the results
were extremely successful.
Within three years, Cracco-Peck boasted two Michelin stars. The dining room
is done in an elegant style that favors cool
earth tones. Specialties include Milanese
classics revisited -- Cracco's take on saffron
risotto and breaded veal cutlet should not
be missed. Be sure to save room for the light,
steam-cooked tiramisu. If you can't decide,
opt for the gourmet menu, like we did. While the food was elegantly plated and the
wine superb,I was a little dissapointed with
the waiter. He kinda seemed a bit rude and
acted like we were nothing but Avatars...oh
wait we are. LOL. After dinner we headed back to get an early
seat for Livid's
show which is always standing
room only.
. Lillith: Moove Designer Lillith was unable to attend
the Milan Show. Be looking for an upcoming
article on the Night Boutique in your favorite Fashion and Design Magazine. Livid: In keeping true to being on the far end of
cutting edge, Livid
held her runway show
and exibition in
an old warehouse
just outside
the Fashion District
at 12:01 AM. Besides setting a great "night"
mood, the strange
hour was carefully
chosen
by Livid to insure
the crowd was given
plenty
of time to view her
MASSIVE selection
of
art, gadgets, fashion,
funriture and accessories. The show began with Ted Nugent's, "Little
Miss Dangerous",
with Livid showing
off her "dangerous"
creations -
crowbars, chainsaws,
and some things I
had
to look up on the
Internet to figure
out
what they were. LOL Set two focused on the strangely disturbing
but well accepted
headless actors Livid
has
created. In several
skin tones and available
for both boyz and
girls, the heads
are held
in the right hand
and well....it is
just
creepy as anything. The star of Livids exhibition was her new
line of spinning
dance floors with matching
mushroom stools in
five yummy flavors. As
Clubs become more
and more competitive in
the
fast-growing community of Moove, any new
technology or Club accessory is bound to
be a big hit - and we predict that Livid's
new hypnotic dance floors will be found in
all the hottest Clubs this Summer. Following Livids show which ended at 6:30
in the morning just as dawn was breaking,
Mela and I headed back to the Hotel for a
quick nap before heading over to Lord Gypsy
Wolfens for his display of Moove wonders. Lord Gypsy Wolfen: Lord Gypsy had decided to bring his whole
Juke Box collection
to Milan, which with
shipping costs the
way they are, had to have
cost a fortune. With music to satisfy almost any taste, Lord
Gypsy has almost
cornered the market on Jukeboxes,
with the exception
of Mickey Blade.
.If you are looking for a jukebox for your
Club or personal
recreation room,
be sure
to stop by and see
Gypsy. MDC - Maggie and Dave We caught a quick taxi across town to make
sure we caught Maggie and Dave's MDC Runway Show at a small convention
hall reserved for
just this show. We arrived a few minutes late, and found
our reserved seating
in "Diva Row".
I think Mela and
I were the only ones
that
were not Super Models...but
we looked waaaay
hotter. LOL. Maggy and Dave have cornered the market in
logo and brand name
wear. Known for the
MDC
line of cheerleader
outfits (which are
near
and dear to me...oh
and most boyz. LOL)
and
wonderfully elegant
wedding gowns, Maggy
and Dave just keep
churning out fashionable
and affordable styles
for both men and
women. MDC's runway show was split into two segments:
Casual and Dress. Both we well recieved by
the Fashion Elite and as the Nascar apparel
line got a standing ovation, Mela leaned
over and said..."see...there is a bit
of red neck in all of us". MDC's dress line is simply wonderful. Using
gemstones (some quite
rare), Maggy and
Dave
have created a wonderland
of sparkly outfits
that shimmer and
shake. The prices
are purrfect
for these somewhat
difficult economic
times...FREE!. As the crowd cheered and clapped, and Mela
and I were getting
ready to head out to Marcerins
show, we were approached
by Brazilian super
model, Giselle Bündchen. Giselle Bündchen is the top-earning model
in the world, pulling an estimated $33 million
this
Our Brazilian Model Friends
year. According to Forbes, her fortune is
close to $200 million. Truth be told, Gisele
is the queen of the supermodels these days,
not only because of her income, but her countless
endorsements and magazine covers. Last year, she and Leonardo DiCaprio ended
their relationship
of five years. Now
you'll
see her on the arm
of Patriots quarterback
Tom Brady. Bündchen and her twin sister (swoons at
the thought of there
being two of them),
Patricia, just celebrated
their 27th birthday.
No word on whether
their four other sisters are into modeling, too. Giselle introduced herself (like she even
HAD too) and was
so very sweet. After
sharing
some chit chat about
the fab fashions
we
just saw, she invited
us to a party that
evening. Of course
we accepted....well....wouldn't
you?. We caught another taxi over to a vacant
warehouse in the
grament district that Marcerin
had transformed into
a Blue Haven for her
runway show. Marcerin:I cannot get enough of Marcerin's creations.
She has an amazing
ability to add just enough sparkle to give the impression her
designs come from
a far off exotic
location.
She is simply fabulous.
Marcerin went for the understated approach
for her fashion show
- letting her designs
wow the crowd. If
any runway show was
the
break out hit of
Milan Week, Marcerin
(along
with Andrea Sweetgirl)
takes the prize.
The audience was on thier feet and applauding
from the first design
to the last and the
applause lasted nearly
10 minutes after
the
close of the show. While Marcerin's designs are not free, they
are worth every penny,
Mela and I both picked
up a few outfits
and planned on ordering
more online as soon
as we got back to
the
Hotel. Unfortunatly,
Libertage Boutique
was
not available online
which is rare for
Marcerin.
We are sure it is
just a small glitch
somewhere
and we look forward
to buying up more
of
these fantastic works
of art. Mela and I headed back to the Hotel yet again
and changed. After
a cup of coffee at the outdoor cafe we caught a limo (I am not
showing up at a party in a taxi) to a suburb
on the outskirts of Milan. Ana Baros greeted
us at the door and we entered a spotless
and glistening white marble foyer. Ana is
GORGEOUS by the way. Upon entering the parlour, a sweet aromoa
of femininity wafted through the air. There
was not a boy in sight anywhere (cept the
House Boy by the name of Luigi), which did
not really bother me at all. wink wink. After hugs and greetings, we all sat and
sipped a wonderful Italian red wine and yapped
about fashions, the hard life of a super
model and of course the latest romances.
Through the conversation I got a feeling
that Giselle was holding something back -
like she had something to tell us, but did
not know how. I finally could not stand it anymore and
said, "Is there something you want to
tell us?" Giselle looked deep into my
eyes and after what felt like an hour of
uncomfortable silence, she pulled something
from her handbag and handed it to me. It was a parchment of sorts. Mela leaned over to read it with
me. It was from Dark Embrace. "Have you ever read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand"?, Giselle asked us. Yes, "I replied". "Your friend
Embrace is not the only one missing",
Giselle told us. Both Avatars from Moove
and Humans are vanishing. Much like the characters
did in Atlas Shrugged", she continued. "I met Embrace in Brasila and we became
instant friends. I had never met an Avatar
before, and I really liked her. One evening,
I heard the door bell and found Embrace at
my front door with a terrified look on her
face. She did not come in but handed me that
parchment and your name. She then vanished,
I think you call it poofing, right before
my eyes. That is all I know". Mela grabbed her cell phone and called Lothar,
letting him know we had an emergency and
was there any way he could cover the last
two days of Milan. As usual, he was calm
and sweet and told Mela he would take care
of it. Since most of the designers were in Milan,
Lothar turned to the residents of Moove who
collectively worked on producing the final
fashion shows for Moove Week in Milan. (see
next page) Mela then called Twisted and Craftie simply
telling them, "Angel
Kiss is needed"
and after bidding
our new friends goodbye,
headed back to the
Hotel to figure out
what
we were to do next. Craftie and Twisted showed up a few minutes
later, and after changing into our Angel
Kiss outfits decided that we needed to try
to poof to the Amazon. None of us really
liked the idea as we had not really grown
fond of the disorientation that poofing causes
and we had never tried poofing to an exact
location. We strapped our guitars on and headed into
the dark streets
of Milan to find a safe
place to poof from.
It is said, poofing from
real with Humans
near by can and often does
cause amnesia in
the Human. We found an old building vacant of any Humans
and were about to poof when we heard a shuffle
behind us. Spiining around we saw a young
girl in Gap sweatshirt, holding a teddy bear.
staring at us. Before any of us could speak,
she raised her right hand and pointed to
an archway a few feet to our left. "This
will take you to the place you want to go,
Shape Shifters", she said in a monotone
voice. You cannot ride the string from where
you are", she added and began to giggle.
"Go there, and you will be fine".
She turned and ran out of the building into
the darkness.
