After an amazing day on the slopes, many
of our visitors enjoy gathering with friends
and locals for libations, music and great
food. Although there are many places to enjoy apres
ski, those in the know head to the local's
hangouts. Last years poll of our visitors showed the
following pubs, bars and taverns as the most
popular. Please note that when perfecting your apres
ski skills, remember that open containers
are not allowed outside and absolutely never
drink and drive. Telluride offers a host
of free transportation and our local law
enforcement is very tough on mixing alcohol
and driving. Have fun!
Jacks Place - Great food, a killer happy hour, smoking
deck, beers on tap and friendly locals. Located
right on main street in downtown Telluride.
Leimgrubers - Located on Pacific Street, Leimgrubers
entertains the apres ski crowd with genuine
Bavarian hospitality. Wonderful beers, authentic
food and a great sunny deck.
O'Bannons Irish Pub - Locals and visitors alike pack 'em in
at OB's. Shots and cold beer are the specialties, while
pool and chatting are the favotie activities
in this Telluride landmark. Don't ring the
bell unless you want to buy the house a round.
Last Dollar Saloon - Lovingly referred to
as the "Buck", this long time main
street bar is geared towards serious apres
ski. Those in the know grab the front tables
as to enjoy the main street views through
huge plate glass windows. One of the few
places to buy a pitcher of beer.
The Sheridan Bar - Historic, crowded, pool tables and friendly
barkeeps make this drinking establishment
an annual favorite, A must stop for all apres
ski professionals.
Allreds - With a view like no other, Allreds is
accessable only by Gondola and boasts the
tastiest treats and meals this side of the
Mississippi. A spectacular place for apres
ski.
Don't Drink and Drive! Telluride has an abundance
of free mass transit to get you home safe
and sound. The local Marshals and our local
Judge punish offenders with huge fines and
jail time. Be smart.
Alcohol at this altitude affects low-landers
much more quickly. If you hook up with some
locals, don't try to match them drink for
drink. The locals are use to drinking at
this altitude. Public intoxication will also
land you in the pokey here in Telluride.
No open containers. With the exception of
street dances and special events, alcohol
cannot be consumed on the sidewalks or on
public property. No jail time for this offense,
but you will get a fine.
Have fun, get to know the locals and practice
moderation. See ya soon!
