The Samsung Galaxy S8, terminal that we analyzed in depth only a few days ago, is called to be one of the best smartphones of this year 2017. However, some complain that the last terminal in South Korea does not offer enough news as to reign the mobile phone market for this period. Details such as the battery of the basic model, or the nonexistent evolution in terms of the photographic section, are the most recurrent themes in this type of criticism.
And in this last point we are going to stop today. As DxOMark photo experts concluded, after analyzing the new Samsung Galaxy S8, and even taking into account this alleged lack of innovation, only a smartphone has been able to overcome the Galaxy S8 in this regard. Do you know what we mean? Surely yes.
The Google Pixel is still the king of mobile photography
Although it has been more than 7 months in the market, the Google Pixel continues to reign the field of mobile photography with quite a difference. To date, the Google terminal has a score of 89 in DxOMark, while the Samsung Galaxy S8, after its analysis, is one point below, with 88.
Exactly the same score achieved at the time Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, which indicates that, indeed, the jump in quality would hardly have been remarkable. Alongside both terminals, we find other portents in terms of photography such as the HTC 10 or Sony Xperia X Performance.
After the analysis, it was concluded that, although the Galaxy S8 has a very complete and balanced camera, some problems of loss of detail in areas of low contrast or noise in certain situations, have led the Galaxy S8 to this second position. So, we have to wait until we see if the future Galaxy Note8, probably with a dual camera system, will be able to make a remarkable jump with respect to the photographic section of the previous generation of the Galaxy line.
Anyway, this second position, with a score of 88, is not at all a bad result for the Samsung Galaxy S8. We will have to see, yes, if the next terminals presented this year will be able to live up to the impressive camera of the Google Pixel.
