Ridgway Farmers Market – Sundays through September, 8 a.m.-noon. Located in Ridgway on Hwy. 550 across from the Ouray County Fairgrounds. This season features breakfast burritos and coffee, local vegetables and fresh fruit, bread, buffalo and elk meat, eggs, wine, fresh cut flowers, soaps and lotions, jewelry, crafts, and much more. First Sunday of each month will feature a cooking demonstration using produce from the market.

Get Your Victorian Bloomers! at the Telluride Historical Museum, bulbs for gardens and gift giving. This is a fundraiser for the museum. Brochures and order forms are available at the museum. The deadline for ordering is August 1. Orders placed by June 30 will receive a gift of 20 yellow miniature tulip bulbs. All bulbs will be delivered in time for fall planting. Host an International Exchange Student – Host families from Telluride and surrounding areas are invited to host teenage international exchange students from around the world for the 2006-2007 school year. The students will attend local high schools. They will bring their own spending money and insurance. Host families are responsible for just room and board. A local STS area representative will assist you throughout the year. The San Miguel County Veterans Service Office has Department of Veterans Affairs applications for health benefits (including prescription drug benefits) available by calling 728-4501.

County Mercury Collection and Recycling – San Miguel County is collecting old mercury thermometers, old cell phones and spent ink cartridges. Only thermometers containing mercury (no other household items containing mercury) are being collected. Ink cartridges and cell phones are being recycled to benefit Norwood’s Wright Stuff Foundation.
