KOTO Fall Fundraising begins this Friday the 8th, with Guest D.J. Day .
This ever popular event will feature local service providers, thus the theme of "At Your Service."
Call in at 728 - 4333, or 728 - 4334 if you do not want to be live on the air, and pledge your support to your favorite Guest D.J. and KOTO, as they compete for the Guest D.J. Silver Tongue Award.
KOTO Fall Fundraising continues on Wednesday the 13th, with the perennial favorite and ever so yummy POTATO BLACK BEAN SAUTÉ. It takes place from 7-11ish at a new location, Honga’s Lotus Petal. We will use both Honga’s and La Cocina’s patios. Come on down and sit a spell with Paul Gelose, Honga & Lucas. Bring your appetite and a coffee mug, and partake in a complete mouth watering breakfast for a mere $7 ! A prize will be awarded for the best mug. Cribbage lovers unite ! On Thursday the 21st, at 7 PM, KOTO will hold a Cribbage Tournament at The Cornerhouse Grille. $10 entry fee. The following week, Thursday the 28th, at 7 PM, the 1st Annual KOTO Texas Hold-em Tournament will take place at the Elks at Swede Finn Hall. $25 to enter. Both tournaments will have GREAT Prizes and a trophy for 1st Place. KOTO Fall Fundraising is brought to you by your Community Radio Station, KOTO. Together we can reach our $50,000 goal.
Classes are forming now for the Fall semester at the University Centers of the San Miguel. Registration is now open to improve your professional writing, public speaking, and computer skills. Southwestern Archeology, Spanish Communications, and Children's Literature are also being offered. Classes are held in the region and most classes begin the week of September 11th. The Fresh Start Horse Rescue of Dolores is an organization that helps abused and unwanted horses. They are just getting up & running, and are looking for volunteers & materials. If you have hay or alfalfa to donate, or corral panels call 882-7522. If you would like to donate stable & fencing materials, or would like to volunteer, call 394-4120.
The Telluride Youth Soccer Club is looking for a couple of great coaches for this fall season for 5th and 6th grade boys. Practice days are Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 3:30 until 5 PM, starting ASAP. There are often games on Saturdays. Coaching positions are paid. Mark Dean will host the tour and instruct the group on both local history as well as basic archeological processes to uncover the mystery of who was here first? A fund-raiser for the Stewart Family will be held on Monday the 11th from 5:30 until 7:30 PM at the New All Purpose Room at the Norwood School. It is a spaghetti dinner including salad, rolls and a drink. Prices are $6 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and children 12 and under. There will also be a dessert auction during the dinner. Tickets are also being sold for a quilt raffle to benefit the family. The winner will be drawn that evening.
