About the Resort Update This Info

Win Lift Tickets to this resort!!

Telluride is as close to pure mountain as you can get. Telluride is the perfect blend of pure mountain splendor, historic charm, world class skiing, and unsurpassable beauty. Year after year guests discover Telluride and fall totally in love. And, with the opening of Prospect Bowl nearly doubling the size of the ski area, paradise just keeps getting better and better.

Dressed in pure white snow, the San Juan Mountain’s jagged 14,000 foot peaks jut powerfully into a crisp, clear and serene turquoise sky, setting the stage for the finest skiing in the West. Enjoy wide open slopes virtually free of lift lines on the expansive and awe inspiring terrain whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skier. Effortlessly explore two towns equally tall on charm that are connected by a free and magical gondola. At the foot of the mountain lies Telluride, a jewel box town, virtually unchanged since its 19th century mining days and nestled in a pristine box canyon. The other side of the ski resort boasts Mountain Village, a casually sophisticated European inspired village bustling with upscale lodging, dining, and shopping. Expect to be embraced by a warm and spirited place like no other; this is a place that touches your soul.

Snowboarding

Skiers and riders hitting the slopes of Telluride this winter can ride Telluride Air Garden’s new Superpipe. The "Pipe Monster" was designed by Zaugg of Switzerland, an advanced cutting and blower machine famous for creating the X-games and US Open’s outrageous Superpipes. The new Superpipe, which rivals other resort terrain parks nationwide, will be located on the Butterfly run.

Racing Programs

Feeling the need for speed? Skiers and riders can race the clock on the NASTAR course open daily from 10 am.-3 p.m. (closed on powder days).

Recent Improvements

Backcountry enthusiasts eagerly await the opening of Telluride’s new guided hike-to terrain in Prospect Bowl’s challenging and breathtaking Mountain Quail. Telluride Ski Resort launched the new guided terrain of Mountain Quail in January 2005. The run sits against the dramatic backdrop of Palmyra Peak and offers guided hike-to terrain within the ski area boundary for the first time ever.

In addition to the new guided hike-to terrain, Telluride Ski Resort's Air Garden Terrain Park will be adding a new Super Pipe and three engineered hits. These additions will allow skiers and riders to push the limits of new-school riding.

Dining

Food afficionados across the country are taking notice of chef innovation in this small resort boasting over 50 restaurants and bars. New approaches in American cuisine, wine cellars that rival those found on either coast and tasting menus prepared by seasoned chefs create the perfect atmosphere to match any mood. Two Telluride chefs, Erich Owen from Allred's and Chad Scothorn from the Cosmopolitan, recently showcased their gourmet talents at the James Beard House, a tremendous honor in the culinary world.

Nightlife

From dancing on the spring-loaded dance floor at the Fly Me to the Moon Saloon to enjoying a beer at the historic New Sheridan, there is ample opportuntiy for entertainment once the sun goes down.

Lodging

After a long days play in our mountain paradise, there is nothing better than drifting off to sleep in a comfortable bed and cozy accommodations. Whether guests choose the Victorian charm of Telluride's small inns or the spacious grandeur of luxury condominiums in Mountain Village, accommodations are as diverse as the terrain on the mountain. All lodging is conveniently located within walking distance of the slopes, gondola, shopping and fine restaurants.
